Conservatives help launch community arts programme

Boris Johnson, Ed Vaizey and Baroness Warsi today (Jan 29th 2008) supported the launch of a community arts programme run by the Paul Nicholas School of Acting. The programme will give young people from disadvantaged backgrounds the chance to develop their artistic skills and experience different aspects of performance art. It will be funded by local councils in an effort to reverse the trend of anti-social behaviour on our streets. Speaking at the launch, Baroness Warsi said, “A project like this really can provide motivation and build futures.” And Ed Vaizey added, “The more young people who can benefit from this interaction with community arts the better.”
